-
⅔ cup vegetable oil (or canola oil)
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
2 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional Add-Ins
-
½ tsp vanilla extract (for a flavor boost)
-
Pinch of salt (if using unsalted pretzels)
-
Dash of nutmeg (for warmth)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Step 2: Make the Cinnamon Sugar Coating
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon until well combined.
If using, stir in vanilla extract with the oil separately.
Step 3: Coat the Pretzels
Add the pretzels to a large mixing bowl.
Pour the vegetable oil over the pretzels and toss to coat.
Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the oiled pretzels.
Toss again until all pretzels are evenly coated.
Step 4: Bake the Pretzels
Spread the coated pretzels in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even coating and crispiness.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
Once cool, transfer to a bowl for serving or store in an airtight container.
Notes
Use Fresh Pretzels – Crisp pretzels give the best texture.
Stir While Baking – Helps prevent clumps and ensures even coating.
Don’t Skip the Cooling – They crisp up fully as they cool.
Store Properly – Use an airtight container to keep them fresh for up to a week.
Double the Batch – They go fast, especially during holidays or parties.
